My name is Nicole Mendicino and I am an Intensive In-Community (IIC) Therapist with the Sherry Blair Institute. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Rider University and my Master’s Degree in Social Work from New York University. I have had training in both Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My experience has offered me the opportunity to work with youth and families experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges. A majority of my work has been with adolescents and families with a particular focus on conflict resolution, anger management, self-esteem building, and crisis de-escalation. I deeply value The Nurtured Heart Approach and believe that both collaboration and the strengths perspective are essential to an individual’s well-being. I intend to participate in additional trainings in this approach in order to enhance my skillset and continually apply this method out in the field. My experience has primarily been in the counties of Westchester in New York and Bergen in New Jersey. I believe that a crucial part of treatment is to enable others to feel motivated and hopeful about their lives. My education, training, experience, and compassion have helped me to achieve my goal of helping youth and families to work toward theirs.
