I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado at Boulder and relocated to New Jersey in 2014. I am currently in my second year working to attain a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. I have over 7 years’ experience working in the non-profit sector, with a focus on child advocacy and non-profit fundraising. I have been employed by Hudson County CASA for 3+ years, where I supervise community volunteers who advocate in court for children in foster care. Through my experience at CASA, I have had the opportunity to work with children ages 0-21 in Hudson County who have a wide range of educational, behavioral, and emotional issues. In order to best serve these children, I also work with and advocate for their parents who are struggling with substance abuse, housing, employment, and mental health issues in order to create a safe and stable home for these children to hopefully return to.

During the third MSW practicum focusing on clinical work which I am entering into at SBI, I hope to learn therapeutic approaches, interventions, and behavioral modification strategies that will best aid the unique children, adolescents, and families that I will be working with. I am passionate about mental health and work diligently in both my professional and personal lives to encourage and inspire mental health awareness, mindfulness practices, and creative expression. Upon completion of my graduate degree, I plan to become a LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) and work with youth and adolescents.
