I received my bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Claflin University. I am presently working towards obtaining a MSW from Fordham University. I have over 15 years working in the Criminal Justice field. I have over 10 years experience working with youth in school, treatment and home settings. I am passionate about helping youth and families achieve their fullest potential by making healthy life choices. I prefer to use a combination of therapeutic approaches; cognitive-behavioral approach, empowerment approach, ecological approach and of course, the nurtured heart approach. Although these are the approaches that I tend to work with, I avail myself to exploring and utilizing other approaches that may better suit a specific youth or family.
My ultimate goal for treatment is to help individuals work toward positive growth that allows them to live a physically, spiritually and emotionally healthy life. I encourage individuals to discover their strengths which allow increased self-awareness, insight, and self-confidence. Self-awareness and self confidence will greatly influence the healthy decision making process as the youth/ adolescent continues to grow independently. I am committed to working with youth and families as they set and reach their goals. I work with youth and families in Essex, Union and Hudson counties.
